Port of Umag
Position: (45°26,2´N - 13°31,0´E)
Meteorological characteristics: protected from all winds and waves except from N and NW wind. NE wind can be strong but is not making waves.
Pilot: compulsory from 500 GT. Available 24 hours on daily basis. Calling VHF ch. 16 (working VHF ch. 12) .
Towage: 1/1226 kW from Shipyard "Uljanik". Additional tugs available from Rijeka on advance notice.
Warning: Sharp lookout on shallow reef „Paklena“ on the N side entrance to the port and shallow reef „Garofulin“ on N side of the entrance to the port.
Anchorage: For bigger ship´s during NE wind should drop the anchor 1NM W from the light of the S pier on the depth of 25 meters. During the night anchorage area should be 2NM W from the port on depht of 27 meters. In case of S or SW wind is recommended to abandon anchorage area because of big waves. Small ships can drop the anchor in the centre of the harbour.
Berth: On the quay can dock ship with lenght up to 50 meters and draught up to 3 meters. Smaller ship´s can dock in the marina situated in the NW part of the Harbour.
Supply: Fresh water, fresh provisions, cigarets and spirits duty free..
Authorities: Harbour master office, police, customs, imigrations, permanent international marine border, post office, medical centre, farmacy..
Bunkers: Limited quantities available by truck
