ST. LAWRENCE EVENING – THE NIGHT OF '' FALLING STARS''
The 12th of August, St. Lawrence day, the city Rovinj celebrates in a unique way. On this special summer night a natural phenomena, the falling stars, the meteor shower also known as ''the tears of St. Lawrence'' can be seen on the sky. The whole city center becomes part of that ''romantic'' event and people gather to witness and enjoy this phenomenon of comets streaking across the sky. To make the atmosphere and the sky even more beautiful the lights on the main square, in the bars, restaurants and all the street lights are turned off and replaced with thousands of candles and torches. There are as well more stages with diffrent musicans and attractive performances all arround the city, along the coast and near the St.Euphemia church, something for every taste. St. Lawrence night is truly about romance, relaxed atmosphere, music and love.... When you see a a shooting star, make a wish...
